The Carabao Cup Final, also known as the EFL Cup Final, is one of the most illustrious pieces of silverware in English football and one of three major honours of the domestic football season, taking place in 2022 on Sunday 27th February.
Ninety-two teams have competed from the beginning of August until the end of February, whittled down to the final head-to-head at Wembley. Since its inception in 1960/61, the competition has rightly earned a reputation for thrilling and memorable fixtures, with plenty of upsets, and millions will be watching with bated breath for 2022’s outcome.
The most successful clubs in the history of the Carabao Cup are Liverpool and Manchester City, having both won on eight occasions, with Manchester City winning a fourth successive season in April 2021.
Chelsea FC will take on Liverpool in 2022, and with most Covid19 restrictions removed, Wembley Stadium will be a sell-out game as two giants of the sport face each other on the hallowed turf.
