St. James’ Park is a magnificent football ground that sits at the very heart of Newcastle, a testament to the passion of the region when you consider this spot would traditionally be taken by a cathedral.
The grounds history stretches back to 1880 however the stadium in its current guise was not realised until the millennium approached with only minor developments until that point. Today the venue enjoys one of the most unique designs and highest capacities in the country.
Newcastle United officially took residence in 1892 when Newcastle West End and Newcastle East End merged and, over the years has paid tribute to its past legends Jackie Milburn, Bobby Robson, Joe Harvey, and Alan Shearer in the form of statues and memorials.
Aside from football, the stadium is used for Rugby matches, of particular note is the Super League Magic Weekend held in April/May and its use during Rugby World Cup 2015. Beyond sport The Rolling Stones, Kings of Leon and Ed Sheeran have held sold-out concerts in the grounds.
Corporate Hospitality options inside the stadium are quite extensive with most taking place within the popular Milburn Stand and for those looking for a more private option Executive Boxes are available.
With a city-centre location, St. James' Park is one of the most accessible grounds in the UK.
