Goodwood Racecourse has attracted thousands of visitors to the Goodwood Estate for hundreds of years, due to its fantastic array of events and stunning location on the South Downs, the picturesque backdrop creating events like no other.
The unique track is known for being one of the most exciting, with pronounced downhill gradients and sharp turn creating one of the fastest in the country, meaning swift horses often have the advantage.
Undoubtedly the most famous event at the course is the Qatar Goodwood Festival, known worldwide as ‘Glorious Goodwood’. Every summer scores of visitors attend this highlight of the year, during which three Group 1 races (the Sussex Stakes, the Goodwood Cup, and the Nassau Stakes) take place.
In addition to Glorious Goodwood, the racecourse also hosts 14 days of racing and the Goodwood Estate accommodates the Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival in other areas separate to the racecourse.
The Goodwood Estate sits just north of Chichester in the beautiful South Downs National Park.
