Goodwood Estate is a hub of sporting action, from horse racing to motorsport and is home to some of the most iconic events of the year. Goodwood Circuit itself opened in 1948 when Freddie March tore around the track in a Bristol 400.
The track subsequently closed in 1966 due to concerns of ever-faster cars making the circuit dangerous and remained in a dormant state for many years. Finally, 50 years to the day it was closed the track reopened and the iconic Goodwood Revival was born.
Thanks in great part to the continued work of the estate, Goodwood Circuit is a wonderfully preserved piece of British history, with modern facilities and standards that are sympathetic to its period history.
Goodwood Circuit now enjoys a special place in the hearts of millions of motorsport fans but has also found new life and prominence with cycling enthusiasts and of course driving experience days.
The Goodwood Estate sits just north of Chichester in the beautiful South Downs National Park.
