Falmer Stadium, or the American Express Community Stadium as it is known for sponsorship reasons, or Amex Stadium for short, is the home of Brighton and Hove Albion FC, a jewel in the heart of the South Downs.
Built-in 2011 the stadium is one of the newer venues to host top-flight football and was constructed to blend in and compliment the surrounding countryside, with a completely translucent roof supported by two giant arches negating the need for pillars.
The stadium has been largely accepted by the fanbase who had to watch their club bounce from ground to ground whilst waiting on construction, while the atmosphere inside can be extremely loud and passionate.
There are fantastic transport links to the stadium which includes an on-site mainline railway station and easy access from London via the M23 and A23 and thanks to the relatively new construction the facilities within are first class.
Outside of football, the Amex Stadium has been used to host several matches for the 2015 Rugby World Cup, but in the main, it’s event spaces are used for exhibitions, Christmas parties, meetings and other special events.
The Amex sits north-east of Brighton near the University of Sussex campus.
