Our in-depth article will tell you everything you need to know.
×The East Wing is Twickenham’s flagship restaurant in the new East Stand, providing a premium hospitality package at a premium price. It has been imagined as looking like a private Members’ Club, however, although it is undoubtedly sophisticated, it looks more like a high-end gastropub, which is certainly not a criticism. It is a large facility with a capacity of 1,020 guests.
Situated in an elevated position on Level 4a of the East Stand, it enjoys twin aspect views, with Twickenham’s pitch on one side and the west London skyline on the other. The restaurant is flooded with natural light as it is dominated by the glass windows the entire length of the restaurant.
Décor and detailing are of a high standard and several ornate chandeliers attempt to hide the industrial ceiling (heating & air-conditioning ducts), which seems to be a fashionable design feature nowadays. There is also a reception lounge area. The bars are an attractive feature in the East Wing, with the opportunity to sit up to some of them.
Private tables are available for 2-10 guests. The tables overlooking Twickenham’s hallowed turf can attract a significant surcharge. Many tables have window views, even if this means looking out across the London skyline. Please note that some tables are located in connecting corridors, which could be disappointing. There is an option to book a semi-private suite for 16, 20 or 30 guests, where curtains close off your area to the rest of the restaurant.
A souvenir match programme is included.
The tickets provided within the East Wing are superb. The seats are situated in the East Middle tier, between the 22m line and halfway. You have direct access to the seats from the restaurant.
The facility opens 3.5 hrs before kick-off. On arrival, you will be served a selection of canapés and small dishes in the lounge area. A 5-course luncheon is served, including cheese. Twickenham Tea is served post-match.
There is a complimentary bar, which includes Bollinger Champagne throughout the day. Real ales, Guinness and premium lager & spirits are available, and the wines are selected by the sommelier. Cocktails are also prepared by mixologists. Half-time drinks are served in the restaurant.
There is a hostess service, which enhances the drinks service. A concierge service is also provided.
Although there are rugby ambassadors present there are no guest speakers, which is disappointing, although the size and shape of the restaurant would not make it a practical option.
There are a few TV screens in the restaurant to view other matches but certainly not enough that all guests have a view.
There are no car park passes included in this package, which means guests will have to use public transport, taxis, or source parking themselves in the Twickenham area.
