The Qatar Goodwood Festival, affectionately known as ‘Glorious Goodwood’ is five days of exhilarating action set against the backdrop of the gorgeous Sussex Downs countryside. This one-of-a-kind event combines elegant fashion with some of the biggest races in the world to create a festival like no other.
Glorious Goodwood opens on a Tuesday, attracting the best thoroughbreds of the year to compete, the days signature race is the Qatar Goodwood Cup, worth £500,000. Wednesday offers more group races and is the perfect opportunity to get up close to the rails on a slightly less busy day.
Thursday or Ladies Day brings the fashion, the day becomes a style showcase for the worlds media and celebrities, with the prestigious group 1 race, the ‘Qatar Nassau Stakes’ taking centre stage. Friday then brings seven more compelling races, alongside live music, fashion, and a great atmosphere.
Finally, Saturday is a sight to behold with the signature race, the ‘Unibet Stewards’ Cup’, which sees over 20 sprinters galloping down the Goodwood straight for a chance at glory, and a place in history.
