The Art School at Aintree Hospitality Critic Review

Introduction

The Art School at Aintree promises to bring an exceptional dining experience to the home of the Grand National. Founder and Chef Patron of The Art School in Liverpool Paul Askew will bring his passion and firm reputation as a pioneer of excellent modern British cuisine to Aintree for the three-day Festival. It can accommodate a maximum of 40 guests.

Location

This facility is located in the historic Paddock Lodge, which is the house once owned by the Topham family, who are responsible for developing the Grand National. The Lodge sits just behind the Parade Ring, and the dining room offers a traditional and historic setting.

Facility/Décor

The dining room has an abundance of natural light, and the windows have direct views of the Parade Ring area. The décor is homely and traditional with features such as oak parquet flooring.

Private Tables

The guests are seated on round tables of 10 guests.

Admission

Premier Course Admission is included. Your package also includes a Grandstand Roof Badge, which although a little walk from the facility, provides superb elevated views of the racecourse.

Catering

This facility’s unique feature is Paul Askew’s 6 Course Tasting Menu including, Champagne Afternoon Tea.

Paul Askew

Drinks

The bar is complimentary and includes Champagne and Premium wines.

Service

Service throughout is left to Paul Askew’s excellent waiting staff. There is not a hostess service.

Entertainment

There is no guest tipster included in this facility.

Audio-Visual

There are a few TV monitors in the facility, not enough for all guests to view from the table.

Car Parking

Steeplechase car park passes are included on a 1:4 basis. The car park is situated in the centre of the racecourse, so it is a little walk across the course to access the Parade Ring area.

Extras

A Racecard is included, and there are Tote betting facilities available.
